Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join The Moorings, working in the British Virgin Islands, providing an efficient, fast, professional, and courteous service to all guests.
We are seeking a Cashier to accurately and efficiently manage all customer transactions to help improve customer happiness. You will be working at the retail store as part of the Provisioning, Food and Beverage team, You will be interacting day to day with a large number of guests, including holiday makers from across the globe.
What you will be doing:
Managing transaction with customer using cash registers.
Counting float at the beginning of each shift to ensure accuracy.
Scanning goods and ensuring accurate pricing.
Collecting payments in cash and credit cards.
Cross-sell products and introduce new ones.
Resolve customer complaints, guide them, and provide relevant information.
Greet customers when entering and leaving the store.
Keeping the retail store and checkout area clean and orderly.
Pricing and labelling of products.
Checking stock and refilling shelves.
Participate in monthly physical stock count
Handle merchandise returns and exchanges.
Ensuring safe food handling, and adherence to health and safety processes at all times.
Daily closeout of POS and balancing of cash register at the end of each shift.
Ensure all sales are placed in our secure safe as advised by your manager.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
Experience as a retail cashier handler or in a similar role in a high-level establishment
High school diploma is recommended.
Food Handler Certificate
Familiar with electronic equipment such as cash registers or POS
Good numerical literacy
Excellent organisational skills together with the ability to prioritise workload
Basic digital literacy.
Approachable and a happy, smiley personality
Outstanding standards of cleanliness and hygiene on both a personal and professional level
A strong team player with the ability to work proactively and in a friendly manner with others, happy to take direction from superiors and enforce to it
A flexible approach to supporting in a wide variety of tasks
Customer-friendly and good communication skills
Excellent reporting skills
Knowledge of more than one language is desirable
Availability to work weekends, public holidays and shift work as the need arises, including evenings.
