Summary
This role is crucial to the successful delivery of our yacht charters; ensuring that all yachts have the required inventory specifications on board based on company standards and local safety regulations. It is your responsibility to check all yachts before departure. Ensure customers are happy with their onboard inventory. Our customer feedback scores should reflect this.
As a team member, you will contribute to the turnaround of our fleet of high-end yachts. The ideal candidate is detailed, encouraging to others, and shows respect and good manners.
What you will be doing:
Verifying all inventory is on board yachts following individual yacht specifications before customers board. Making sure everything is stored accurately and operates accurately.
If something is missing, ensure to check the boat thoroughly before replacing it
Maintaining the agreed quantities of all items on board the yachts, ensuring counts are completed pre charter start; and returning any excess quantities to the company stores
Strict focus on the safety inventory requirements as per the flag of the vessel and compliance to the local shipping registry requirements
Ensuring all required documentation is onboard and in a well-kept condition
Above deck, you will inspect the yacht for organization and tidiness of inventory, open deck lockers, anchor lockers, inspect the running rigging, ensure the correct number of cushions are in place and properly secured
Below deck, open every locker, drawer, compartment, and lift every cabin floorboard, check for cleanliness and tidiness, and ensuring proper listed inventory is present and visible
Ensure all heads are stocked with bin’s, toilet paper holders and toilet brushes.
Check the BBQ grill is clean, secured in place, and all internal parts are assembled correctly.
Working to the yacht charter turnaround and planning schedules, through close coordination with the planning department
Liaison and close communication with the technical, cleaning, stores and purchasing teams
Work closely with the stores department to maintain adequate supplies of regular-used items
Highlighting any loss of equipment to the operations manager to ensure payment is taken from the customer where applicable
Checking in directly with the customers prior to departure to ensure they have all inventory requirements
Support consistent approach to standards of inventory, including removing items which are worn & need replacement
Escalating any serial failures of equipment, to allow purchasing to investigate alternatives
Checking expiry dates on all safety equipment pre-charter, ensuring no charter goes out of date equipment
Record expiry dates of safety equipment by yacht to proactively allow for planning and purchasing of replacements
Remove anything prior customers have left onboard and report any important items for return to the customer
Support with quality checks and briefings/debriefings
Any other duties as requested by your line manager
The ideal candidate will have the following:
A meticulous approach to following inventory and specifications; excellent attention to detail
Experience of yacht inventory items; knowledge of what to expect on board a charter yacht is desirable
Customer friendly and good communication skills
A team player
Good numerical literacy
Able to use digital software on a mobile phone (use of our company fleet maintenance software will be required)
Hard working, with good self-initiative
Honest and reliable
Able to swim
Physically able to lift and carry inventory items and water sports equipment
Able to jump on and off yachts on a regular basis
Flexible approach to working hours, and shifts. Must be available to work weekends and public holidays.
