    At The Moorings and Sunsail, we plan and deliver fantastic yacht charter experiences across the world. Whilst at Leopard Catamarans, we design spacious, robust, performance-driven cruising catamarans.

    Summary

    We are currently recruiting for a Deckhand to join our team in Cape Town, South Africa. Working hours vary and you must be flexible to operational requirements. Please note that this is a full-time, permanent position.

    What you will be doing:

    • Cleaning and preparing boat surfaces that includes but not limited to GRP, stainless steel and cushions according to the guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures of THL
    • Assist with the moving of yachts
    • Assist with the loading of yachts when the relevant freighter arrives
    • Securing yachts, which entails that batteries are switched off, hatches and doors locked, equipment removed of the boat and moorings lines adequately secured by end of each day
    • Highlighting cosmetic and functional faults found on boats to the Commissioning Agent
    • Cleaning, washing and polishing boat surfaces in preparation for protection
    • Applying protective coatings and plastic covering on applicable yacht surfaces
    • Log all activity and surfaces attended to accurately on the checksheets
    • Keep work spaces neat and tidy

    What we are looking for

    • Strong work ethic
    • Able and willing to move around yachts/dock
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Available to work on weekends as required
    • Ability to maintain a calm, positive attitude during periods of high activity
    • Must be a self-starter and capable of working unsupervised
