This position is to manage the Seychelles technical team to ensure and maintain excellence in yacht maintenance quality, through training and maintaining a strong team to provide yachts maintained above owners and guest expectations and ensuring delivery of results through CSQs to support excellence of the department.
Working hours vary and you MUST be able to cover operational requirements. You may at times be required to assist with other duties outside of those listed below. You must be happy to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
What you will be doing
Managing the technical team in line with management and HR best practice
Ensure the correct maintenance, operation, and readiness of all vessels for charter including all onboard systems, rigging, inventory and hull structures per company policy and procedures
Support the technical team to deliver the highest standards of yacht maintenance
Maintain detailed fleet maintenance logs, including coordination of all routine servicing, A3, B6 and C12 processes
Responsible for working with the team to ensure all major maintenance issues and owners concerns are addressed in a timely manner
Ensure all maintenance is regularly recorded on the Extranet or relevant channels
Ensure all technical areas and equipment are legally compliant (e.g. safety equipment, signage, etc.)
Hold regular meetings with the technical team to address issues affecting the department
Review debrief forms and CSQs on a regular basis and address issues affecting the yachts
Ensure all company motor vehicles are maintained and legally compliant
Work closely with management regarding annual budget and monthly forecasting, ensuring company expenses are controlled and monitored efficiently
Oversee collection of YDW amount from customers for their insurance excess/security deposit in the case of damage or loss of equipment/inventory
Manage stock levels and ensure adequate stock for maintenance and turnaround requirements
Identify and report to the Operations manager and Global Technical Director on any technical and warranty issues, insurance claims, and ensure proper reports are submitted accordingly
Work with the recruitment team to ensure vacancies are filled with strong candidates, and be actively involved with interviews, orientation ad training of all new employees
Identify learning and development needs of the technical team
Ensure performance reviews through the SMART process are completed and submitted in a timely manner
Ensure relevant service advisories are communicated to the appropriate team members
When required ensure incident reporting processes are followed
Meet with yacht owners and continue to build strong relationships
Assist and oversee turnaround duties
Liaise with all relevant departments including finance, central purchasing, HR, marketing, and all relevant central support services
Any other duties as directed by management
