Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join The Moorings, working in the British Virgin Islands, providing an efficient, fast, professional, and courteous service to all guests. Working across multiple outlets as part of the Food and Beverage team, you will be interacting day to day with a large number of guests including holiday makers from across the globe. Working in this lively resort teamwork and flexibility are key to ensure operations run smoothly and that guests leave feeling that they receive a 5-star service.

What you will be doing

• Working between multiple restaurants across The Moorings resort
• Set up the restaurant for service every day and also for event functions as required, including change of table layout to meet function requirements
• Always ensure cleanliness of restaurant, quickly attending to spillages
• Welcome guests upon entrance with passion and a smile, introducing yourself and seating quickly
• Present restaurant menus and help customers select food and beverages through offering appropriate recommendations
• Taking orders and serving well-presented meals ensuring consistency in presentation and reporting back to the kitchen team accordingly
• Regularly checking guests have everything they want and ensuring they are enjoying their meal and service
• Ensuring close communication with co-workers in the kitchen and front of house to ensure all customers receive the same 5-star service, and support others where it is possible to achieve this
• Taking care of complaints or problems as they arise
• Accurately taking cash and card payments
• Supporting with bar and kitchen duties if required

What we are looking for

• Experience as a server in a high-level establishment
• Friendly, approachable, and happy, smiley personality
• Experience taking cash and card payments
• 5-star level customer service skills
• Ability to work efficiently during busy periods maintaining a positive approach
• Positive demeanor, excellent communication skills and confidence to approach customers
• Responsible and trustworthy
• Sensible and professional appearance
• Passionate about working in a customer-facing hospitality position for a growing, reputable travel company
• Flexible approach to supporting a wide variety of tasks
• An all-rounder who can support with all areas of restaurant and bar operation
• Availability to work weekends, public holidays and shift work as required including evenings
