Summary
The Yacht Acceptance Agent is responsible for the inspection and acceptance of all yachts presented by the contracted factory at the time of handover through the process to final signoff to Travelopia Marine.
What you will be doing:
Handover Inspection:
Utilising Sailsense, inspect all presented yachts for defects including all systematic and functional aspects.
Check all paperwork in commissioning file is in order and highlight as need be.
Check accuracy of confirmation of order, colour charts and standard boat equipment list
Listing of defects found after inspection and typing of reports timeously to be submitted to Yacht Acceptance Lead as an exception report.
Ensure reported defects are corrected by factory
Complete all required forms, digitally & where applicable hard copy.
Record all data in defined data platforms
Final Sign off:
Confirm dock space availability
Check exception report for final completeness of defects
Check skippers pack, commissioning file complete
Check exterior cushions and digitally record shortfalls and fitment.
Set yacht up for departure, lines and fenders
Digitally record sea trial results and highlight any safety issue to management
Conduct Seatrials and record defects digitally
Highlight defects found during sea trial on deck schematic page in commissioning file
Logistics:
Assist in preparation of yachts when necessary for departure after Signoff
Load yachts onto freighters if requested
Check on stored yachts and highlight concerns
Communicate with R&C on various groups to keep process flowing.
Any other reasonable requirements as stated by Management
What we are looking for:
5 + years professional experience working on and/or with yachts.
RYA Yacht master Offshore or equivalent
SA Operators license
Valid driver license
Ability to utilize Microsoft Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
Marine Surveyors diploma
Technical Diploma
